DINER AUBERGE DES RUINES JUMIEGES
Late into April, The Ordre des Canardiers organised a visit of the Ruins of Jumièges Abbey, followed by a lunch-party at l’Auberge des Ruines, owned by Master Canardier Christophe MAUDUIT. The visit was led by a passionate guide whose knowledge of history and architecture amazed the Canardiers, who learnt about the evolution of the abbey, from its construction to its destruction, as time went by and as political regimes changed in France.
After the visit, the group went to the Christophe MAUDUIT’s restaurant, which had just been awarded a Michelin green star, a reward for his environmentally friendly cuisine. After a Fish Ceviche with Yuzu and Chizo, the guests had Veal Medallion with Wild Garlic, served with vegetables. The meal ended with a choice of Norman cheeses and a Chocolate-Pistachio Duo, a real delight for the participants.
