March 5th : Day-trip to Le Tréport
The Canardiers spent a day in Le Tréport in order to have lunch at « Le Saint Louis » restaurant and visit the historical Kahl Burg site.
The restaurant was chosen to host our first meal of the year following a call from Julien COQUELIN, its young owner and chef, who wants to serve Duckling with a Rouennaise Sauce of his own as he does not have a press.
The eighteen Canardiers who participated in this outing were served Scallops, the Chef’s Duckling and Chocolate Cake. During the meal, Master Canardier Gilles HAUVILLE, who organised the outing, performed the recipe with the Canardiers’ press, for the other guests of the restaurant to discover this dish.
In the afternoon, the Canardiers headed to the top of the cliff above Le Tréport in order to visit the Kahl Burg Blockhouse, which was built by the Germans. The visitors walked up and down along a series of galleries, passing by the different living quarters and observation posts overlooking the Channel.
